Comments:
There are many theories of its
origins, and much debate over
gin vs. brandy. We do know the
recipe was first recorded in
1930. The name, compares the
power of the drink to a 75mm
French artillery piece and was
coined when a World War 1
pilot said it felt like being on
the “receiving end of a French
75!” BTW, we liked the Cognac
version a little better than the
gin.
