Updated: Jun 1

PH factor: 8.5

Ingredients:

Cocktail

o 1 teaspoon ginger grated

o 2 ½ ounces Johnnie Walker

Black Label scotch

o 1 teaspoon Monte Alban

mezcal

o ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice

o ¾ ounce Ginger Honey

Syrup (see: Syrups etc.)

Garnish

o candied ginger

Method:

1. Muddle ginger in a

cocktail shaker.

2. Add ice and remaining

cocktail ingredients except

mezcal and shake to chill.

3. Strain into an ice-filled

Old-Fashioned glass.

4. Float mezcal on top of

drink.

5. Garnish with candied

ginger.

Comments:

The classic recipe calls for 2

ounces blended scotch and 1½

ounces Laphroaig 10-Year-Old

Islay single malt scotch for its

smokiness. But if it’s smoky

you’re after, and you don’t

want to start an exotic scotch

collection, try the above.
