gin

o ½ ounce Bénédictine D.O.M.

o ½ ounce Schladerer

Edel-Kirsch liqueur

o 1 dash Angostura bitters or

o 1 dash Hella Orange bitters

or to taste

o 2 ounces Fever-Tree Club

Soda

Method:

1. Shake cocktail ingredients

except soda over ice.

2. Strain into an ice-filled

Collins glass.

3. Top with Club soda.

Comments:

The only thing anyone seems to

agree on about this cocktail is

that it was probably created in

1915 and probably in the

Raffles Hotel Bar in Singapore

and probably by Ngiam Tong

Boon. There are probably a

dozen camps of Sling Loyalists.

Our apologies to the “must

include pineapple” crowd, but

we think the taste of the above

is more interesting. Please try

the Singapore Sling #2, also

included, and make up

your own minds.
